I believe this was the day we ate breakfast at Buenas Dias in St. Mary’s. It was very good, although I don’t remember what I had or anything. But worth the drive. All gone!
Later I made this remark:
This place is cool and rather lovely, but a little too “groomed” for me. And there was nowhere to walk the dog at night, other than going round and round the campground circle with lights glaring in my eyes. And hoping all the dogs were safely leashed.
Dare I to hope that some of these people will be leaving tomorrow?
Later we took a trip to Okefenokee Swamp. It’s beautiful in the sunshine. Maybe always. What I loved was the slow swaying of the tall pine trees, bare of limbs for way, way up, rising out of palmettos as far as you could see. Odd place and a lovely one.
But it's kind of sad that we never really saw the water. We really should have done a ranger boat tour, but we had the dog. We couldn’t even walk the boardwalk—no dogs allowed. Bad planning on my part, darn it.
Interesting little homesite in the swamp.
