Bye to the pretty river,
Last day of travel for a bit. It was still cold in the mornings, about 37 degrees. But not freezing and with no frost. I woke up at six and it was light out, but managed to snooze until six-thirty. The sun was just appearing over the trees when I took Molly outside. The geese were annoyed by us and took to the water, silly things. There was a small group of deer in the low brush between the campground and the neighborhood houses along the river there. The poor critters are cut off by the interstate and can’t go to the high ground to the northwest. I wonder if they go thru that tiny underpass that Ed and I found while walking?
There were flowers all over. Some sort of white prunus species by the road (prunus=apples, pears, peaches, etc.) Wow. When we got to Worcester the forsythia, daffodils and tulip poplars were amazing. Double wow. I drove around in a constant state of distraction for the beauty.
I think this is the Hudson,
The day’s drive was a short one to the Pine Lake RV Resort and Cabins. Our campsite there was at the top of a hill (hills, it’s always hills here!) and just across from the dog park. Which would have been perfect, except for a line of Pine Trees that blocked our Starlink access to the North sky. It turned out to work okay-ish there, but we stopped by the office and asked to move two sites over anyway. The campground wasn’t crowded at all so they had no issues; we’d move the next day.
Of course, we went to Edward’s house and took them out for dinner; Texas Roadhouse. It was shockingly fast for a Friday night—we got in and got seated in about ten minutes.
His house is much the same as before, no big
improvements, but the kids are doing great. They were all happy to see us, and
very well mannered for their ages. Impressive!
