Good-bye Lake Pueblo
Headed for Grand Lake
Going into the mountainsThru a tunnel
Another tunnel Getting close
We were staying at the Rocky Mountain KOA for the first two nights--all I could get--and then moving to Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains for the remaining three nights. They were both in gorgeous locations. I liked the KOA better except that the campsites were cramped and squeezed up close together. But there were trees and shrubberies and birds all over, plus chipmunks and squirrels for Molly's entertainment. Also rumors of moose.
On the first day Molly and I went walking and soon found ourselves in Rocky Mountain National Park. it was that close! We could have walked on a long ways, but we were beside the road and traffic was annoying. There was a pretty big shoulder, but the traffic was going 55 mph and I don't like walking alongside a highway.
So we returned to the RV park, passed it up and went up the hill until we were turned back by a house with a loose dog outside. On the way we met a guy who paused his car to tell me there were "two huge moose" just up the road at the corner.
We went on as far as we could (until the loose dog) but never saw any moose or anything that looked like a corner, either. Another time.
