Magnus to Mass., with Jamestown Jaunt, Day 14

Tuesday, August 19

On our last day, all we did was hang out with Edward while he replaced boards in his porch. Ed was able to give him helpful suggestions, but Edward had to do most of the work by himself. They had just enough boards to finish all the broken ones, but there are still more that are beginning to rot out.

The pool was operational, but the adults chose not to go in. It had turned chilly with highs only in the low or mid-80s. Edward and Elyanna stayed in it for a long time, but Ethan only survived for about an hour before getting too cold.

We ate at Texas Roadhouse, and then just had time to go back to the house and watch Edward build a fire in his backyard fire ring and burn some of the trash wood and logs he was trying to get rid of. We couldn’t stay long—we wanted to get back to camp before 9pm so we wouldn’t have to park outside the gate.  Molly got her walk in the dark, as usual, and then it was time for bed.

And it was over.
